Double-Knit Phone Pouch
Double knitting is hollow (you can pull two layers apart) without color changes.
This simple phone pouch is made using the hollow nature of double knitting. It can be a quick project using leftover yarns, and will make a perfect gift!

Double knitting in 2 colors, Italian cast-on, I-cord
SIZES
One Size to fit phone size 6 ¼” x 3” x ½”
(16cm x 7.5cm x 1cm)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Pouch: approx. 6 ½” x 3 ¼” (16.5cm x 8 cm)
Strap: approx. 35” - 40” (90cm - 100cm)
YARN
DK weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors
SAMPLE SHOWN IN
Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts Lascaux DK (25% Manx Loaghtan Wool/75% Punta Arenas Wool, 100g/3.5oz, 250m/273yds)
10g/0.4oz each of Cerrillos (A - LC) and and Fortuitous (B - DC)
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
US #2 (2.75mm) and #3 (3.25 mm) straight needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US #7 (4.5mm) DPNs or circulars (any length) for I-cord.
Tapestry needle and scissors
GAUGE
18 sts and 32 rows per 4” (10cm) in double knitting using larger straight needles (US#3) after blocking
A little pro advice - consider the length of strap so that the phone will be on your belly area. If it’s too short, it will interfere with your breast or armpit, and if it’s too long, it will hit your crotch or ground when squatting!
