You stitch this showstopper shawl from the bottom tip and work upward from there, which means you can keep crocheting until you decide it’s large enough—or until you run out of yarn!

The versatile shallow triangle shape is perfect to wear as a stunning
lacy scarf as well as a shawl, and the reduced depth means you can complete it faster than a classic half-square triangular shawl.

Gauge is not at all important for this project. A different gauge will affect the final dimensions of the shawl, but you can keep adding more rows until the shawl is the desired size.

Lace patterns like this use a much larger hook than you would usually use with fine yarn. The large hook makes the lace flow and drape beautifully.

If you plan to crochet until you run out of yarn, bear in mind that you’ll need to keep back around 10 percent of your yarn for the final row and the border.
