Double Bar Line Cowl
This pattern was originally written for my learn to crochet class as a way to practice all the fundamental crochet stitches.
This cowl uses single crochet, half double crochet, and an intermediate stitch making the double bar line break.
It is named for the double bar line marking in sheet music that indicates a major change in the music like a tempo or key change. After the double bar lines, the stitch pattern changes.
A fitted cowl uses one skein of worsted weight yarn at about 8” tall, and 25” in circumference. A scarf will use more than double the amount should be as long as the recipient is tall (60-72 inches long for most adults).
