I don’t know about you, but I’m just dotty for a little texture, and when I say a little, I mean a lot! Dotty has it all - twisted rib, moss stitch, flowing cables, reverse stockinette and bobbles. If all that feels a little intimidating, don’t worry! Dotty is actually a really quick and intuitive project, so it will be flying off your needles and on to your head in no time.

As much as I love the texture, I have to admit that I have a soft-spot for that pop of colour! If like me, you have a whole draw-full of tiny balls of special yarn left over from a previous projects, then it’s time to get them out. This pattern is ideal for using up small amounts of yarn for the contrasting colour, so it’s a great opportunity to do a little stash diving!

Yarn

Prado De Lana Worsted; 200 yds/182 meters in 100 g in
colourway Maíz Molido for MC.
Prado De Lana Ovejas; 200 yds/182 meters in 100 g in colourway Palomitas for CC.

Approx 154 (176) yards/141 (161) meters for MC.
Approx 32 (40) yards/29 (37) meters for CC (includes yarn for pompom).

Needles

Larger needle in size required to obtain gauge. I suggest using 4 mm/6 US with a 16” / 40.5 cm cable and double-pointed needles.

Smaller needle two sizes smaller than larger needle. I suggest using 3.5/4 US with a 16“ / 40.5 cm cable for ribbing.

Sizes

Sizes 1 (2).

Head Circ: 16.75 (19)” / 42 (48.5) cm
Length (with brim unfolded): 10.25” / 26 cm

To be worn with 0 to 3” / 0 to 7.5 cm of negative ease. I wear size 2 in the photos with a negative ease of 3” / 7.5 cm.

26 sts by 36 rows over 4”/10 cm in charted pattern with larger needle size and after blocking.

Notions

Tapestry needle, 6 (7) stitch markers and one unique marker for BOR, cable needle.
