Morse code, anyone? This 1871 pattern is from Mrs. George (Anne Jane) Cupples’ booklet published in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was a prolific author of children’s books but wrote only 2 knitting booklets.

Idea: knit a date or initials in Morse code in a hem or scarf!

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, casting on in the middle of a row and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
