Inspired by colorful creatures of oceans deep, residents of reefs and a ruffly genus of sea slugs, Dorid serves up an easy and relaxing knit experience while keeping it fun with easy short rows and the colorful stripes of Uneek.

Dimensions: 67” / 170 cm length, 2.5” / 6.5 cm width at middle

Needle: US 4 / 3.50 mm (straight or circular), any length to accomodate stitches; or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions: Tapestry needle

Gauge: 13 sts x 20 rows in Garter stitch = 2” / 5 cm square, steam blocked

Skill level: Easy

Techniques: Garter stitch, I-cord edges, increases, decreases,
easy short rows

Construction Notes:
Dorid is a skinny scarf worked flat in Garter stitch. It starts from one tip and continues toward to the other. Stitches are increased in the starting tip, then decreased in the ending tip to have a mirrored look. The ruffles are constructed with easy short rows, no special technique is required.

Elongated stitches occur because of this lack of a special technique, but these stitches give a decorative touch. Plain Garter rows are worked for the middle to create a better neck fit. I-cords are worked to polish the edges.
