Dolin is an easy-wearing spring cardigan, featuring a loose fit, 3/4 sleeves and a beautiful cable and lace panel on both fronts and back. It’s feminine, but it’s also bold and geometric at the same time.

I love how the simplicity of this one pairs with the striking pattern and subtly heathered yarn. It’s a classic wardrobe staple that also makes kind of a statement. It’s definitely a piece I will reach for time and time again - over a tank and jeans or shorts, as well as over a linen tunic or dress.

The Quince and Co Owl was a stash yarn I’d bought years ago and picked up again last Fall. The color is what really drew me in - a deep green with a dark gray heather. The wool is lightweight and delicate, but also round and lofty, so it’s a pleasure on the needles. And, the mid-weight fabric that this yarn works up into is just perfect for a wear-everywhere sweater.

Dolin is knit in pieces from the bottom up and seamed. The finishing is easy, as all the lines are straight and a selvage edge is included in the design. Sleeves are picked up around armholes and knit in the round once body is seamed, and the button band is picked up and knit flat to end.

Alterations for fit are easy and notes on modifying the design for length or width are included in the pattern. Notes on working long or short sleeves are also included in pattern.

Yardage by Size:

Sizes
34.25(39,42.5,46,49.5)(55,60.5,64.5)”
87(99,108,116.75,125.75)(139.75,153.75,163.75)cm

Sizes are actual finished circumference at bust, worn buttoned. I suggest the size that allows for 5-7”/12.75-17.75cm of positive ease for fit shown. Maya is wearing sweater with 7”/17.75 positive ease.

If looking for a substitute yarn, I suggest a light worsted weight wool-blend fiber with a touch of heather to it. See the test knits for ideas if needed.
