Doggy Santa Coat
This pattern is written in UK terms but I have put US terms in brackets, but basically it is made in rounds and rows of HRT with chain to start and a row of DC (TR) to finish off. I used about 50 gram of DK yarn and oddments of white aran (you could also use Sirdar snowflake or an eyelash yarn and 4 mm hook. It was made to fit a fairly portly Westie weighing 11.5 kg. If you dog is bigger or smaller then adjust the starting chain number to fit your dog’s measurements just below the waist and then adjust the length as you go to fit the dog, I suggest you try on as you go ! The design has large armholes so there is plenty of room for the dog’s front legs to move with no restriction, to get it on just pull over the head and put the front legs through the arm holes. In hindsight I might have made the starting chain slightly less ( about 6 sts) as Bella is wider round her chest than she is have made it a little big snugger at the bottom of the jacket . Every dog is different though and the pattern is easy to adapt.
