“Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them” has always been my favorite quote from Winnie the Pooh. Sometimes the sweetest flowers on my neighborhood walks come from plants that are technically weeds, and I admire them all the same. These socks are in honor of some tiny blue flowers making their way through someone’s front yard that made my morning walk to work just a bit brighter. The pattern can be modified to use your scrap yarns to make a colorful field of flowers from cuff to toe!

TECHNIQUES

These socks are knit cuff down with one colorwork chart and a wrap and turn heel. Modifications for a toe-up sock are included for reference, but do not constitute a full pattern.

SIZING

This pattern uses 3 sizes. The socks are designed to fit approximate foot circumference 8 (9, 10) inches.

MATERIALS

Yarn: 2 colors of fingering weight (4 ply) yarn. Sample is shown in Drops Nord and Drops Fabel.
Needles: Size 1 needles for cuff, heel, and toe. Size 1.5 needles for colorwork.
Additional Materials: Tapestry needle, stitch markers (2), scissors, crochet hook (optional)
