Socks Dionysos have been created in memory of my first passion, ancient Greek and mythology.

Dionysos, in Greek mythology, was the god of grape harvest, wine, and madness ritual, generally not recommended :p.
So, to feel as Dionysos in our socks (without dizziness), I think the
easiest way is to draw a pretty leafy motif on the top of the feet surrounded by lovely cables reminding grapevines twisted together.

About techniques : this is a toe-up knit, So you begin with the toes and finish with the ankle. No gathering. The only sewing needle you will use is for the sewn bind off of Elisabeth Zimmerman, a very useful and stretchy bind-off for ribbing.

This pattern contains one chart that allows you to adapt the length of your socks as you wish.

There is 7 sizes, according to the circumference of your foot at the bigger spot (right under your toes). From 7.4 to 9.8 inches.

Les chaussettes Dionysos ont été créées en souvenir de mes premiers amours, le grec ancien et la mythologie.

Dionysos, dans la mythologie grecque,était le dieu de la vigne, du vin et des excès généralement peu recommandables :p.

Alors pour se sentir tel Dionysos dans nos chaussettes sans avoir l’esprit embrouillé, je me suis dit que le plus simple était de représenter un joli motif feuillu sur la longueur du pied entourée
de jolies torsades rappelant les branches des vignes s’entortillant entre elles.

Niveau techniques, ces chaussettes se tricotent en toe-up, on commence donc par les orteils et on termine par la cheville. Aucune couture d’assemblage pour ce modèle. La seule aiguille à coudre que vous utiliserez sera pour rabattre vos côtes de manière élastique, grâce au sewn bind off (rabat cousu) d’Elisabeth Zimmerman.

Le modèle comprend un diagramme qui peut être adapté selon la longueur de chaussette voulue (cheville ou mi-mollet).

Ce patron comprend 7 tailles, calculées en fonction du tour de pied au niveau le plus fort (juste en-dessous des orteils), allant de 19 à 25 cm.
