The pattern comprises a place mat of 60 rows plus crocheted edging and a glass mat (coaster) worked the same as the place mat for the first 34 rows and then finished with crocheted edging. A “Milward steel crochet hook 1.00 (no. 4)” is required for the edging.

It is worked in the round on double-pointed needles.

One ball of Coats Chain Mercer-Crochet Cotton No. 20 (20 grams, 155 metres) suffices to make one place mat and one glass mat.
