Nordsee. Weiter, grauer Himmel – weites Meer. Das ferne Kreischen vereinzelter Möwen im Ohr und den Geruch von Salzwasser und Tang in der Nase. Der feste, klein und unregelmäßig gewellte Strandsand erstreckt sich kilometerweit. Der Wind zerzaust Haare, drückt das Dünengras in den Boden und zieht an den Jacken. Keine Menschenseele ist zu sehen. Unter den Füßen knirschen Sand, Muschelreste und vom Wasser rund geschliffene Steine.
Da bricht die Sonne durch die Wolken und der Blick fällt auf zwei weiß leuchtende Austerschalen, die die Wellen den Strand hinaufgespült haben.

Die Form des Schals ist einer Reihe von Austern nachempfunden, die jede in ihrer Mitte eine Perle tragen. Aufgereiht am Meeresstrand, mit seinen unregelmäßig geformten Wellenlinien im Sand.
Du kannst den Schal nach Fertigstellung entweder mit Perlen schmücken oder so lassen, wie er ist.

2 Stränge Malabrigo Rios (hier in der Farbe „Aguas“)

Fertige Größe: ca. 39 cm x 240 cm

Gestrickt wird von unten nach oben, der Rand und die Tuchform werden mit verkürzten Reihen geformt.
Der Schal lässt sich mit einem dritten Strang Rios leicht verbreitern/vergrößern, Tipps dazu in der Anleitung.

North Sea. Gray sky - wide sea. You hear the distant screech of seagulls and smell the salt and seaweed in the air. The beach extends for kilometers, not a soul is to be seen. The harsh wind tousles your hair, pushes the dune grass in the ground and pulls on the jackets. Walking along the beach the sand and shells, which have been left there by the tide, make crunching noises under your feet. As the sun breaks through the clouds you see two luminous white oyster shells that have been washed up to the beach.

The shape of the shawl reminds of a string of oysters, each of them with a pearl inside. They lie together on the beach, close to the wavy lines in the sand.

When you knit this shawl, you can either follow my pattern or „paint” your own waves in the sand, using purl stitches. You can sew on big pearls after finishing or leave the shawl as it is – just as you like.
Shape is created using short rows, design is made by knits and purls. Since the short rows are quite simple, this pattern is also suitable for beginners. Knitting direction is from the bottom to the top.
