Diana Cowl
Inspired by Diana Barry of the Anne of Green Gables novels, this cowl is delicate and light, and keeps things not too serious. Diana is the kindred spirit and companion of Anne’s heart. The lace recalls the pretty wardrobe pieces that Diana loves and makes, and the gray stripes contrast but go with the lace perfectly.
This one is dedicated to Diana and Anne’s friendship, and to my daughter, whose middle name is Anne, who wanted a cowl version of the Nicole Shawl “So I don’t keep losing the scarf.”
Kits are available on Hinterland Yarn’s website.

Construction Notes
This cowl is worked top down as if working for a triangular shawl flat, then joined in the round in the final sections to create the cowl shape.
The lace was written in both written and charted in the pattern.
When working the stripes, loosely carry the color not being used up the start of row, with enough slack to match the tension on the end of row.
