Diamond Windows Hat
This lovely decorative crochet hat is worked with intricate diamond shaped windows worked in lacy and pretty spider web stitches. More diamonds form the scalloped edge, creating a lacy effect. Trim in ribbon, lace and silk flowers. Decorative hats are ideally suited for tossing on a bed, chair, chaise, or hat stand.
Materials:
• 350-yd ball 100% cotton thread, size 10
• Steel crochet hook size 8 (1.50 mm)
Molding Materials:
• Commercial fabric stiffener
• Plastic wrap
• Rust proof pins
• 1 (5”) Styrofoam ball; cut in half
Finishing Materials:
• Silk flowers of varying sizes
• Polyester roses
• Dried baby’s breath
• ½-yd flat lace
• ½-yd ruffled lace
• ½-yd ribbon
• Glue
