This pattern is made lengthways, so it takes a little time to get started and you need a little care when counting your foundation chain (stitch markers help!). Once you have completed the foundation you will find it works up quite quickly, with only 7 rows and one edging border.

I love the diamond pattern (maybe I am a bit obsessed with it!) and have worked it into several items – scarves, a cowl, a pair of mitts and a hat, using different weights of yarn. They are all quite adaptable and will feature in an ebook covering many variations on the diamond theme. So far the ebook contains 3 designs.

The scarf is 15 cm (6 in) wide by 175 cm (66 in) long when blocked.
