Diamond Shell Easter Egg Cover
I don’t know why, but every time I used to draw Easter eggs as a kid they were always zig-zaggy! I looked around for a zig-zaggy type design for an Easter egg and couldn’t find one. After quite a few tries I finally realized that simple sometimes is best and went with just a plain shell stitch, very similar in design to my Stained Glass Cross Ornament.
Pattern is fashioned like a pouch, and is closed by gathering the bottom together under the egg and tying off. This closing could be tied with a bow to make the egg removable if desired.
2 sizes are included, one to fit a real hardboiled egg or plastic egg form approximately 2 1/2 inches tall, the second to fit an egg form approximately 3 1/2 inches tall.
