Here’s an easy, reversible afghan strip or scarf pattern. It’s so simple, it knits up quickly and blocking is optional. The pattern is 3 rows of stockinette stitch followed by 3 rows of reverse stockinette stitch. You increase at the beginning of every row for the bottom corner until the strip is as wide as needed. Then you increase in one row and decrease in the next for as long as needed. Finally, you decrease at the beginning of every row to make the top corner. Note that knitting the top corner won’t add to the strip’s height.
Feel free to make the welts bigger or smaller. Use whatever increase or decrease method you prefer.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, kf&b, pf&b, p2tog and k2tog.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

96 yards of Universal Yarn’s Bamboo Pop yarn will make 10 inches of a 41-stitch-wide strip at gauge.
