Diagonal Rib Cowl
This pattern is available as a free download for my subscribers.
A lightweight, closer fitting cowl to ward off Spring chills. Worked in a quick to knit textured pattern, this cowl is reversible - wear it upside down or inside out! I designed this cowl to use some yarn I bought from a local farm, so use handspun or local yarn - or substitute any fingering weight yarn. To get a similar effect to the sample, try a woolen spun yarn or any yarn that will bloom a bit.
Finished Size circumference approx. 20 in, height 6 in.
Yarn Approximately 150 yards fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in Avillion Farm Jacob Wool/ Angora (80% Jacob Wool/ 20% Angora; 250 yds 229m / 2.5 oz 70g). A good commercial substitute would be any woolen spun or tweed yarn.
Needles US #3 (3.25mm) 16” circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge 26 sts x 31 rnds = 4 in in Diagonal Rib pattern. (Note that gauge is not absolutely critical for this project.)
