The Devil’s Punch Bowl is a wild spot on the central Oregon Coast. The bowl was likely created by the collapse of the roof over two sea caves and is partially open to the Pacific Ocean. Waves enter the bowl, where they often violently churn, swirl and foam, sending spray up into the viewing area alongside Hwy 101. I have fond memories as a small child of peering through the openings in the safety railing and being totally spellbound by the crashing and swirling waves trapped in the punch bowl.
