Design 1 - Roses
This design can be purchased as part of an 8 page pattern booklet containing three striking tea cosy designs based around the Prostate Cancer logo and Tea For Victory slogans and 1940s theme.
Knitted in Libby Summers Chunky yarn, there are three designs in the collection to inspire people. This pattern is a 1940s vintage style tea cosy, adorned with roses. The roses in Design 2 look complicated, but are very simple to knit if you know basic shaping techniques.
The Roses design is inspired by heavily decorated ‘pretty’ tea cosies of this period, simplified to make it more contemporary in style, with six ‘roses’ adorning the top of the tea cosy. The design is deceptively simple to knit, using only stocking stitch and one decrease row on the main piece, and one increase row and one decrease row on the roses. The pattern uses 8mm [US11] needles, one 50g ball of Libby Summers Chunky for the tea cosy and three 25g balls of Libby Summers Chunky for the roses.
