Casual oversized sweater with drop shoulders and delicate cables. Worked seamlessly from the top down. First, the back shoulders and back neck are shaped with short rows and the back armholes are knitted straight down to the specified length. Next, the front shoulders and front neck are shaped with short rows and the front armholes are knitted straight down to the specified length. Then, the back and the front are joined to work the body in the round to the desired length. After that, the finishing detail is applied to the neck. Finally, the sleeve stitches are picked up to work the sleeves in the rounds down to the desired length.
SIZES
XS-S (M-L, XL-2XL) to fit bust circumference 76-88 (92-104, 108-120) cm / 30-35 (36-41, 42-47)”.
Finished bust circumference: 109 (122, 135) cm / 43 (48, 53)”.
Choose the size that gives you 15 - 33 cm / 6 - 13” of positive ease at bust. Sample is shown in size XS-S to fit the bust circumference 90 cm / 35.5” with positive ease at bust 19 cm / 7.5”.
YARN
Sample is shown in Filati Naturali Suri Silk (70% surf baby alpaca, 30% mulberry silk, 350 m (383 yds) / 100 g (3.52 oz)), 340 (400, 460) g. Or any similar yarn approx. 1190 (1400, 1610) m / 1300 (1530, 1760) yds.
GAUGE
28 sts х 40 rows = 10х10 cm / 4x4” square in cable stitch on main needles after blocking.
NEEDLES
Main circular needles size 3.5 mm (US 4), 80 cm (32”) and 30 cm (12”) for the body and sleeves.
Corresponding circular needles size 3.0 mm (US 2½), 40 cm (16”) and 30 cm (12”) for the neckline and sleeves finishing.
Or any size of the main circular needle to obtain gauge. Corresponding circular needle size is smaller than main.
