Definitely In Africa Cardigan
Additional notions: 1 shank button, 5 size 3 seed beads for button loop
This is the final (of three) designs inspired by Beryl Markham. During her active and convention-defying years, she had affairs with both Karen Blixen’s husband and lover (and that’s Blixen of Out of Africa fame), and thus the name of this cardigan.
Don’t let this cropped beauty fool you - if you like crochet lace, and can work up rectangles, you can make this cardigan. It’s only 5 rectangles of varying sizes seamed together. The lovely curved bottom is worked once the body is seamed from the bottom edge of the cardigan. A simple edging in a different fiber/color lends interest, and the top one-button closure completes the super-easy construction.
