Dawn Hat
This hat is inspired by my daughter who asked for a knit hat with a princess crown.
This hat knits up quickly and is just a combination of knits and purls. Instructions are written and there is a chart.
I first knit it up in a light worsted, which was a great fit for an adult with a smaller head (or both my children…who have rather large heads) so this is a pattern that you can use a light worsted/DK and have a smaller hat…or use a worsted yarn for a better fitting adult hat!
Materials Needed: 75g/135 yards Worsted Weight Yarn
Yarn used in green hat is: Old Growth Worsted by Cedar House Yarns in the Noble colorway
US7-16” Circular Knitting Needles & US7 Double Pointed Needles
Stitch Marker
Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
Gauge: 19 stitches by 26 rows = 4” x 4” on US7 in pattern with Worsted Weight Yarn
Size: - Use Worsted Weight Yarn for Adult - 23” measured where brim of the hat will sit. Hat is meant to fit snug and have negative ease to show off the pattern on the top of the hat.
- Use DK Weight Yarn for a smaller adult head/youth head
