A daruma doll is a Japanese symbol of good luck and perseverance. It was originally modeled after Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk who, after nine years meditating in a cave, lost the use of his arms and legs- thus the round shape!

These little mits mix modern elements with traditonal scandinavian knitting techniques. The mits are knit in the round, using double pointed needles. Skills include: cast on, rib, increase, decrease, knit in the round with DPNs, read a chart, pick up stitches, knit with 2 colors.

mits work up about 4.5 inches wide laid flat, and are about 7 inches long
