Darcy Shawl
This is a pretty and really versatile shawl, collar or wrap - it can be worn in so many different ways that the only limit is your ingenuity. Made in 3 pieces and easily stitched together, the triangular lace back is a wonderful contrast to the stocking stitch side panels, finished with a lace frilled edging. It’s not difficult to knit - if you can work yarn forward, K2tog and sl1, K1, psso, plus increasing, you’ve got all the skills you need.
Knitted in Rowan Lima, this unusual baby alpaca yarn is really soft and gives a lovely drape to the garment. It takes just 4 balls, or approx 350-400m.
And it can be knitted in other aran weight yarns too. Try mohair for winter or a cotton/silk slub yarn for cool summer evenings (note that the finished size may vary if using an alternative yarn). I’m going to add beads to the back lace panel for a really special party shawl.
I look forward to seeing your finished Darcy Shawl on the project pages.
