I love the way the sunlight falls through the leaves in my garden - making patterns out of the sunlight. With each twist of breeze or bee flying from flower to flower, the patterns and shapes are constantly changing.

Dappled Shade was inspired by those patterns. With two different lace stitch repeats, garter stitch highlights, and knit on the bias, the light falling through this shawl reminds me of those forms in my garden.

It is at once a stole or shawl, or a large lacy scarf you can wear all year round.

Please note that the two lace stitches used are charted only. All other descriptions for construction are written out.

While gauge is provided, due to the nature of this piece, it isn’t essential to abide by it. There are notes provided in the pattern for changing the size of your shawl.
