Bag: 17 inches tall x 16 3/4 inches wide, excluding fringe, after blocking and before adding lining
Fringe spirals: 2 inches long
Handle: 39 inches long x 1 1/4 wide, with clasp hooks on
Motifs: 5 1/2 inches x 4 inches, blocked.
MATERIALS
• Círculo Charme fine (sport) weight mercerized Brazilian virgin cotton yarn (51/4 oz/433 yds/150g per ball):
1 ball each #8001 white and #2012 candy blue
2 balls #2931 nautical
• Size 5/1.9mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Large-eye sewing needle
• 1-inch D silver rings: 2
• 1 1/4-inch lobster clasps: 2
• 17 1/4 inches x 17 inches coordinating lining fabric: 2 (for optional lining)
• Sewing thread and needle
• 22-inch zipper
• Fabric glue (optional)
Note: Dritz D rings (#117-1-65) and Craftmemore 2 piece Oval Snap Hook set (SC09 11/4 inch silver) were used in sample.
GAUGE
26 dc = 4 inches; 12 rows = 4 inches
PATTERN NOTES
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Join with a slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
Chain-3 at beginning of row or round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Twist the spirals in the motifs a bit before working into them, to keep the shaping intact.
