Dalloway (dk version)
Pattern has been updated to include instructions for both dk and worsted weight yarns. You will receive instructions for both when you purchase the pattern.
Dalloway is a fun and elegant cloche style hat. Perfect for rainy mornings and flower shopping, Dalloway’s tucked brim juts out ever so slightly to frame the face before leading into a tighter cable pattern.
Pattern is recommended for advanced beginner knitters and beyond. The cable pattern is simple and a great one to try cabling without a cable needle.
Materials
Approximately 180 yards of dk weight yarn, or yarn needed to obtain gauge
(Dk model was knit using Madelinetosh Tosh Merino dk in “Calligraphy”).
US size 6 16” inch circular needle & DPNs
Stitch marker
Cable needle (optional. This is a great project to try cabling without a needle)
Tapestry needle
Gauge
5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch
6.5 stitches per inch in cable pattern
Size
Designed to fit adult female head (about 21-23 inches).
Hat was designed with 2 inches of negative ease and measures 20 inches around the cabled section. If you like your hats snugger, you may wish to go down a needle size.
