This pattern is named for a little patch of home, (pronounced Dar-vre) the colour and texture reminding me of the moss, heathers, mountains and sea; it is the ‘as Gaeilge’ translation of the island’s name.
The cowl is worked flat with a provisional cast-on, to a length of about 65cm, then half-twisted once before the ends are grafted together. The moss stitch makes a sturdy yet snuggly collar, while the twist ‘tucks’ it in under your chin. A knittably, smooshy hug!
