The Daenah Blanket was designed as a compact, lightweight blanket that sits comfortably across the lap without feeling bulky or trailing on the floor. Worked from the centre out as a square, the design combines some of my favourite crochet techniques, including popcorn stitches, front and back post trebles, and back loop detail, to create rich texture and gentle structure throughout.
I wanted the pattern to feel relaxing and rhythmic to crochet, with repeating sections that become easy to memorise, while still offering enough variety to keep the stitching engaging. The blanket uses a single ball of Stylecraft Batik Swirl and a 4mm hook. The samples shown were worked in the Meadow and Forest colourways.
For a larger project, multiple panels can easily be joined together to create a bigger blanket or throw.
Pattern is written in English using UK crochet terminology.

Crab Stitch (reverse dc) - insert hook in next st to right of hook, yrh and draw up a loop, yrh and pull through both loops on hook.

Daenah Blanket - Pattern Notes
The blanket is worked from the centre out, in rounds with the right side facing throughout - do not turn at the end of each round.
The blanket starts as a circle, which is then squared off.
A stitch count is given at the end of most rows.
Instructions in brackets are worked the number of times specified eg x7.
