Dactyl Worsted Weight
This is the Worsted Weight version of the Dactyl shawlette/scarf. When you buy the “e-book,” you get one document with both fingering weight and worsted instructions included.
- written pattern, no chart
- tech edited and tested
- memorizable for most knitters
- 3 page pdf
Note: This shawl is worked from the bottom up (ribbed section first.) Plan accordingly for any color-changing yarn or stripes.
I’m sure this is how it goes for most paleontologists. Playing with a long length of ribbing that folded in on itself, I accidentally discovered pterodactyl wings. Pink ones.
Not fit for flight, they’re actually a teeny shawlette knit with one skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted in the lipsticky shade called Geranio. A point at the back neck gives it a depth of just 8.5 in/22 cm and the wingspan is a cute 44/112.
With just 16 rows of ribbing, and finished with short rows, this project flies by. Heh heh.
