Crystal & Wire Bracelet
For knitters who want to start incorporating crystals/beads into their knitted wire, this is a perfect starter project.
The pattern consists of written instructions and a chart to indicate where the crystals need to be knitted in.
The size of the bracelet will depend on your tension, a tight knitter will produce a slightly smaller knitted piece, so you may wish to add a few rows. Approximately 4 rows of knitted wire = 1cm.
Materials & Equipment needed:
- 4mm crystal bicone beads x 75 - in colours of your choice.
- 0.25mm / 30 gauge or 0.3mm/28 gauge coloured enamelled copper jewellery wire x 20 metres - From years of making wire jewellery, I find these are the best gauge for knitting and crocheting with. It’s flexible/thin enough to not hurt your fingers when knitting, but is also strong and retains it’s shape once knitted/crocheted.
- 5:1 Bracelet connector endings x 2, 2x 5mm split rings, lobster clasp and 1x extension chain
- 3mm knitting needles - straight
- Small sewing needle with eye large enough for wire
- Jewellery pliers to attach lobster clasp and extension chain to 5:1 bracelet connectors
- Row counter
The wires are widely available online.
