Cruces (Latin for crosses) is a thick and cozy cowl with a very simple stranded colorwork pattern that fades into solid bands of Stockinette stitch. The cowl is knit in the round from end to end and twisted before the two ends are joined. This pattern is a wonderful way to practice stranded colorwork and creates a beautiful finished piece that looks more complicated than it is!

Specific yarn requirements:
Anzula Luxury Fibers Cricket (80% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere; 250 yds/ 229 m per 114g); 1 skein each in Au Natural/ ivory (C1) and Elephant/ dark grey (C2)
Or, 250 yds/ 230 m each of two colors of DK weight yarn

Needles:
US 4 (3.5 mm) needles preferred for working a small circumference in the round (e.g. 16”/ 40 cm long circular, dpns, circular long enough for Magic Loop, etc.), or size needed to obtain gauge
Second circular needle or dpns of same size

Gauge:
22 sts & 30 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in Stockinette st, blocked
25 sts & 28 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in stranded colorwork pattern, blocked Meeting these exact gauges is not crucial, but any major differences will affect the size of the finished cowl as well as yardage required.
