Crosstown Buttoned Cowl
This textured, striped and buttoned cowl is an easy project to tackle and quite a versatile and fun piece to wear.
The cowl in the photos was made from working two strands of Cascade 220 yarn together and knitting them as if they were just one strand (also known as marled knitting), giving the piece a striking marbled effect. One skein (about 200 yards) in the shade Silver Gray and one skein (about 200 yards) in the shade California Poppy were used.
You can also use a single strand of a chunky or bulky weight yarn if you prefer. You will also need three buttons each measuring at least 1” in diameter to complete the cowl.
The piece is worked sideways and then buttons are sewn on in the final step.
