The hat is made bottom up starting with the band, which is made in rows, and joined together. The rest of the hat is made from the side across the band and worked up to the top.
Chs at the beginning or end of the row do not count as a stitch throughout.
Rounds are joined to the first ch 3 st of the round with a sl st.
The stitches are decreased at the top before the hat is tightened and sewn together with a tapestry needle. You can put a pompom if you like.
