Description
The Crassus Sweater is a feminine oversized drop-shoulder sweater with added sleeves and a beautiful boat line neckline. The sweater is knitted from the top down, starting with the ribbed neckline. Increases are made on either side of three shoulder stitches on each side of the yoke. The yoke is first knitted back and forth with short rows to shape the neckline, then in the round until the sweater reaches the desired width, after which the shoulder increases stop. The front and back are then knitted separately back and forth until the armhole reaches the correct depth. From here, the work is joined, and the body is knitted in the round. Stitches are picked up along the armhole to knit the sleeves. The sleeves are meant to just cover the wrist, but they can be adjusted as desired, just like the body.

The sweater is designed with 15-30 cm of positive ease, but if you prefer a tighter or looser fit, you can go up or down a size. The recommendation is to aim for a wide ease in the smaller sizes and a narrower ease in the larger sizes.

The model in the picture has a bust measurement of 84 cm and is wearing a size XS with approx. 29 cm of positive ease.

The light pink version of the sweater is knitted with 1 strand of Danish Pelsuld 8/2 from Hjelholt Uldspinderi in the color Cherry Blossom and 1 strand of Tilia from Filcolana in the color 321, Sakura. The dark pink version of the sweater is knitted with 1 strand of Merilin in the color 70 and 1 strand of Silk Mohair in the color 69. Both qualities from Isager Yarn.

In addition to yarn, you will need 5 stitch markers, 2 of which should be openable like safety pins.

Recommended Needles
The sweater is knitted in stockinette stitch back and forth and in the round on 4.5 mm circular needles (80 cm) with 1 strand of each quality held together.

It is recommended to have 2 circular needles in 4.5 mm, so the stitches that need to rest can be on one needle while knitting with the other. Alternatively, you can use a string or a stitch wire instead.

The ribbing at the neckline, armholes, and body is knitted on 3.5 mm circular needles (80 cm).

I recommend the Magic Loop method for knitting the sleeves, the upper part of the yoke, and the ribbing. If you do not use the Magic Loop method, you will also need a 4.5 mm circular needle (40 cm) and a 3.5 mm circular needle (40 cm).

Gauge
18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm on 4.5 mm needles, back and forth and in the round in stockinette stitch.
