This sweater is one of, if not the most, cozy sweater I have ever knit. The boucle feel of this 100% merino wool by Woolfolk is just unbelievable, which is the major reason I had to knit two versions. With Cozy on Southwick you get not one, but two sweater patterns! You can decide if you want to knit a single color version or play around with stripes, AND you can also decide if you want to feature the boucle side (reverse stockinette) or the more subdued side (stockinette), depending on your preference.
I hope you enjoy making, and then wearing, this drop shoulder sweater. You can wear Cozy on Southwick with so many options - my preference is just drinking coffee on an easy Sunday morning.
Construction
This drop shoulder sweater is knit from the top-down in the round. The sweater begins by working the back shoulders and knitting to the back underarm. Then stitches are picked up for the front shoulder, which are worked one at a time. From there, both front sides are joined and stitches cast on for the bottom of the front neck and worked to the front underarm length. Then front and back are joined at the underarms to knit in the round. The body is worked in the round to complete the motif, finished with a bottom hem trim rib. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole edge and worked in the round to the cuff. Stitches are picked up around the neck edge and worked in a rib trim.
Two sweater options are given, one with stripes and knit right side out and the other without stripes with the reverse stockinette side facing out.
