Cozy Mesh Triangular Shawl is an original PlanetJune Accessories crochet pattern by June Gilbank.

I designed Cozy Mesh to feel like a comforting hug around your shoulders - this is not a gauzy, feather-light wisp of a shawl; it has a little weight built into the gorgeous stitch pattern. The texture and lace are built on a small scale, to give a warm, substantial fabric with no gaping holes, while still allowing the fabric to drape and flow beautifully without a hint of stiffness.

This pattern is worked from the bottom up, so you can keep crocheting until your shawl is the desired size (or you run out of yarn). The unfussy edging is built directly into the shawl, so you don’t even need to keep any yarn back for later.

My lace patterns are designed to be worked with normal-sized hooks into the spaces between stitches, which means that there’s no hunting for those tiny fine loops to work into, and they are a pleasure to work.

Size: The size of the shawl is totally up to you - just keep crocheting until it’s the size you wish!
Main sample shawl measures 44” (wide) x 19.5” (tall) unblocked; 51.5” x 21” blocked.
1-skein mini-shawl measures 23” (wide) x 11” (tall), unblocked.

Difficulty: easy/intermediate

Yarn: Any yarn weight will work with this pattern, although I used sock/fingering weight for the samples; using a thicker yarn will increase the size of the stitch pattern and make the resulting shawl bulkier.
Main sample used 400m fingering weight baby alpaca/silk/cashmere blend yarn
Mini-shawl used 150m fingering weight acrylic/polyamide blend yarn

Hook: an appropriate hook for the yarn you choose (hook size advice is provided in the pattern)
Samples used an I US/5.5mm hook

Optional: blocking wires and/or rustproof pins, and a surface for blocking

Details: The pattern includes full stitch diagrams as well as clear written instructions, plus a photo tutorial for the textural stitch.
