Cozy Cabled Cowl
This cowl, designed with a variety of cable stitches, samples
some of the most common cable knitting techniques—all within
a single project. The cowl is knit flat and joined together with a
seam.
The pattern creates a universal adult cowl neckline of approximately 22 inches in circumference although the knitter may adjust the circumference consecutively by about 3 inches with each pattern repeat.
An accurate gauge is not critical although helpful to achieve a well-defined cable pattern.
The pattern calls for an Aran weight yarn although a heavy worsted may also be used.
Materials needed include:
• Size 8 5.0 mm straight or 16-inch 41 cm circular needles
• Cable needle or short, size 8 5.0 mm double-pointed needle
to hold sts
• Tapestry needle
