Cowgirl Cowlette
In the fall, it’s time to wear jackets and coats again but too warm to button up all the way to the top, leaving the front of your neck exposed to chillier temperatures. This cowlette is the perfect solution, combining a shawlette tip for your V-neck opening and a cowl to keep your neck warm. The lacy chevron pattern works well with solid, gradient, or self-striping yarns.
Fiber 3 oz Fox Hollow Farm hand-dyed wool top.
Yarn 2-ply; 280 yd; 1,600 ypp; 16 wpi; sportweight.
Needles U.S. size 3 (3.25 mm): 16” circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; tapestry needle.
Gauge 27 sts and 39 rnds = 4” in patt.
Finished Size 23” circumference, 18.75” tall from point to top, 6.75” tall cowl.
Note This cowlette is worked from the point up. The lower shawlette piece is worked back and forth, then stitches are added and work continues in the round for the cowl piece.
