Cowesett Tee
The Cowesett Tee is a warm-weather take on American Indian–inspired textiles. The tee is worked in the round from the bottom up, and the armholes and neck are steeked. Choose a wool-based yarn to help keep those strands stuck together after the cut!
Difficulty Experienced
Finished Size 36.25 (39, 44.5, 47.25, 50, 55.75)“ bust circumference. Tee shown measures 39”; modeled with 7” of positive ease.
Yarn Tahki Yarns Scotland: #02 taupe (MC), 5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8) balls and #09 midnight (blue; CC), 2 (3, 3, 3, 3, 4) balls. Yarn distributed by Tahki-Stacy Charles Inc.
Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16” and 32” circular and set of double-pointed. Size 5 (3.75 mm): 24” and 32” circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers; stitch holder; tapestry needle.
Gauge 22 sts and 30 rnds = 4” in St st on larger needles; 23 sts and 26 rnds= 4” in charted patt on larger needles.
