This is a great way to express yourself!

The pattern can be knitted several different ways. You can knit it from the bottom up using either 2 circular knitting needles or magic loop. Using these methods means that you have no seams to sew!! Or, you can knit it from the top down using straight knitting needles and then seam the sides and the bottom together. Either way, this is a pretty quick knit!

The bag got its name from a cabled, counterpane square. Knitters used to make counterpane squares and sew them together creating a bedspread.

The bag measures approximately 17 inches long x 11 inches wide when NOT buttoned onto the handles. Buttoned to the handles, the bag’s length is approximately 13 inches. The bag could be permanently fixed to the handles, but I think buttoning them is the way to go! Thank allows you to get creative and either knit more Counterpane Craziness bags or invent your own!
