Coronet Shawl
The Coronet Shawl is a large crescent shaped shawl, with a simple main body and lacy edging. The edging is reminiscent of the decorative work on a crown or coronet.
The substantial length and depth of the shawl allows it to be worn in several ways; around the back as a wrap, loosely wrapped and draped over the shoulder or wrapped around the neck like a scarf.
This pattern is worked in long rows, starting at the neck and allowing the final edge to be worked in the same direction.
The shawl looks very effective when made using two colours, highlighting the decorative border, however it does look equally as regal when made using one single colour.
The finished size is approximately 200cm in length, 40cm in depth (widest part of crescent shape)
680m of a fingering (4ply) weight yarn is needed in total. 560m is needed for the main body and 120m is needed for the edging.
It is written in English, and is available in both US and UK crochet terms.
The pattern has full colour photos and is easy to read and understand.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner; Familiarity with working in the rows is desirable.
Please share photos of your finished items, as I love seeing the work of others :)
Happy Hooking!
Regards Elizabeth
