This egg cosy was inspired by Cornish Blue crockery, which traditionally is designed in distinctive blue and white stripes. This is a great project for beginner knitters to try as this is knitted flat on straight needles (not in the round).

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the egg cosy is knitted in acrylic DK yarns.

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.75mm single pointed knitting needles (US 5).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; a few grammes in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, and a 2cm fleece pompom to decorate the cosy.

SIZES
One size only - 7cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For beginners and above, other techniques used include seaming, knits, purls, and k2tog decrease.
