Coral Moon Socks
I love a good pair of DK weight socks for lounging around the house, or wearing with my birks on a cold day. The Coral Moon pattern that runs up the top front of the sock is fun to knit and easy to memorize making these socks a great on the go project!
Notes
This is a toe up sock pattern written for one long circular needle using the magic loop method. The cast on starts at the toe and works up the foot to the heel where a short row heel is worked in a contrast color. The mc is rejoined and the leg of the sock is knit to your desired length. Adjustments in foot length or height will require more / less yarn.
The first half of your stitches (needle one) will be the instep (top of the foot) and the second half (needle two) the sole of the foot.
If you are knitting with more than 2 needle tips (i.e. DPNs) I recomend using 1 needle for the entire instep and spliting the sole onto two needles.
The toe increases are achieved with yarn overs. One the next row you’ll knit the yo through the back loop as indicated on the pattern.
Leave a 6 in tail each time you add / cut a color)

Measurements/ circumference: 6.25 (7.5, 8.5 )” / 15.8 (19, 22) cm
For correct sizing measure around the ball of your foot and knit the size that is 1/2 to 1 inch smaller than your actual measurement.
Gauge
27 stitches and 36 rounds in stockinette = 4” / 10 cm, after blocking. Gauge is crucial in obtaining the correct fit. Changes in gauge will cause a size difference for your finished socks.
