Cooper the Turtle
Meet the Cooper the Turtle. So he is not the speediest turtle around, but with a shell made out of granny motifs, at least he can travel in style!
This turtle can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
I used Vanna’s Choice Solids for my Turtle, using four different colors:
- Toffee (90 yards)
- Kelly Green (15 yards)
- Fern (15 yards)
- Sweet Pea (15 yards)
Cooper is an intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include basic granny square construction (Including double crochet and joining new colors), single crochet, increases, decreases, and seaming.
This pattern is a little different than other Monster’s Toy Box patterns, but I made sure there were plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making an sweet turtle. Also included is a photo tutorial on how create child-safe eyes from felt, although instructions for using plastic safety eyes are given as well.
