This scarf uses a special Tuck-Stitch pattern (a cousin to Brioche Stitch) to create an extra squishy (and reversible) fabric – perfect for wrapping up in on cold winter days. Holding two strands of Loft together results in an aran-weight yarn that is incredibly light and offers beautiful stitch definition. The length of the scarf has been designed for versatile types of wear: wrap it twice for relaxed drape, or thrice for a layered cowl fit. If you prefer a traditional scarf, rather than the “infinity” (looped) variety, we have included instructions for you in the Variations section at the end of the pattern.

Construction

  • Scarf is worked flat in one direction (from cast-on to bind-off edge).
  • Scarf is worked with yarn held double throughout.
  • Scarf begins with a Provisional Cast On. After completion of knitting, live stitches at top of scarf are joined together with provisional stitches to create a closed loop.
  • Scarf incorporates a 3-stitch built-in I-Cord along both edges

Yardage

Approximately 1100 yards of fingering/sport weight wool yarn; yarn is held double throughout

4 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia Wool; 275 yards/50g)
