Compostela Blanket
Baby blanket crochet patterns, for me, have 3 main criteria:
- Avoid holes for tiny fingers to get stuck in
- Keep it simple. I’m not one for complicated designs or too many colors. Keeping it simple means its more likely to get used over and over and passed down to the next generation.
- Unisex is best. This also means it can easily be used by brothers & sisters and become a family heirloom.
The Compostela Blanket ticks all the boxes! Although scalloped crochet edge baby blanket patterns are often more feminine, I find this large-scale version to be modern and unisex. I would have gladly wrapped my baby boys in it when they were newborns.
But the Compostela Blanket is not just an easy baby blanket crochet pattern. The pattern comes in 5 sizes: lovey, baby, receiving, throw, and king. Choose more adult colors for a gorgeous throw or bedspread.
Designed in a classic worsted weight acrylic yarn, you can easily dive in your stash to make yours!
There is also a step by step video tutorial for this blanket border!
