Colour My Shawl by Kelene Kinnersly

Colour My Shawl

Pattern will be retired on July 15 2024

When that skein of hand painted yarn isn’t enough for more than a handkerchief or small shawlette, Colour My Shawl allows you extend the yarnage while adding dimension to the colourways of that special skein.
Are you afraid of picking colours? It’s simple; mate a solid colour with a variegated or self striping yarn. It’s the first step in making a simple yet stunning shawl.

Colour My Shawl is a heart shaped shawl. The long edges and shallower triangle fits elegantly around the collar and neck with lots of length in its edges to flow softly around the front. It’s practical and current. Dress it up with dramatic colour choices or soften it down with gentler colour choices.

Finished Measurements: 64” x 18” on US 4/3.5 mm

Yarn Needed:

  1. 437 yds (400m) 3.5oz/ 100g fingering weight in a variegated self striping or solid colour (Contrast Colour)
  2. ( 144yds) 50g of fingering weight in a solid colour (Main Colour)

Teal Shawl was knit by Linda, it was done on 4mm so it is bigger then the pattern measurements. Linda used a Analogous colour theme, picking two shades in the same colour family. One dark and one Light. Thanks Linda
