A fun cowl with a marlisle colorwork that creates the illusion of three dimensional holes in the surface, reminding a famous building in Rome (Colosseo quadrato).
The effect is obtained working the lighter parts with one color, the darker parts with the other and the intermediate parts with both colors held together.
Finished size: 16.5 cm height and 50 cm circ. (6.5” height and 20” circ).
Yarn
Lang Yarns Merino 200 Bébé (100% Merino 222 yds203 m/50 g)
MC: col. 71.0303, approx. 100 m.
CC: col 71.0405, approx 100 m.
Needles
One 60 cm / 24” circular needle (or straight needles) in size needed to obtain gauge.
Suggested needle size: 3.5-4 mm / 4-6 US.
Notions
4 markers.
Tapestry needle to weave in ends and graft the cowl.
Gauge
19 stitches and 38 rows = 10x10 cm (4”) in garter stitch.
